I practice what I call menditation. Menditation is part of my daily morning routine that I don't always stick to. I use a timer app, set it for ~20 minutes with a gong every 5. I start out meditating (vaguely Vipassana style) and do that until the first gong. Then I'll either mend for 5 or 10 minutes and maybe meditate for another 5. The last 5 is always stretching.

Mending promotes mindfulness. Being mindful and taking care of the textiles we rely on is crucial work that I believe everyone ought to be doing. The repetetive motion helps maintain a meditative mind.
